Over the past couple of weeks, I’ve been taking the time to do some deeper research into the field of email marketing.

  • I’ve learned about listing one’s newsletter in newsletter directories.
  • I’ve taught 2 deep dive classes which I’m really loving doing. I am now offering these once a month (April 11th and May 8th are the next ones).
  • I’ve been trying out some of the new features of Constant Contact — especially the landing page functionality. You can now embed a video in a landing page that plays in the landing page!
  • I’ve been learning about being an influencer which has dragged me a bit more back into the world of social media — hey, follow me on Instagram @ @albertkaufman11

I have also been learning from my peers. Some people, like my mentor and friend, Michael Katz, have hardly changed his game plan at all during the pandemic. Others have reduced the amount of marketing they’ve been doing. I’ve been somewhere in the middle. Given that the stimulus money is starting to flow my guess is that the economy is going to be picking up speed and so now is a pretty good time to remind people you’re in business :)

A central facet of email marketing and social media is subject lines. Good ones lead to your material being opened and looked at. Bad…
