This comes from my way back files. I wrote this 11.20.02 — back when there was a big Child-Free By Choice movement. Maybe there can be again.

About 7 years ago (1995) I decided I would never have kids. I love children, don’t get me wrong. When people see me playing with children, they usually assume they’re mine. When they find this is not the case, they usually comment: “You’d make a great Father!” And yet, I’m childless by choice, a fact that upsets my parents and has made me ineligible to date many women. But despite disappointing my parents and missing the chance to date many future moms, I’ve been very happy with my decision over the years.

  2. Vasectomy (for men)— if you get one of these, no more birth control if you have a regular partner! Sex without condoms is much nicer for all parties involved.
  3. There are 6.31 billion people on the planet (2002) (now in 2021 close to 8 billion). If you want children or young people in your life…
